Plelauff, France

France offers some of the most dynamic culture, rich history, and amazing food and landscapes of any country on the planet. With its central location to accessing Europe and its wealth of transportation options within the country and abroad, it serves as an excellent base for traveling throughout the region. One could certainly get lost in France alone for years, particularly in the beautiful region of Plelauff/Brittany where the TEFL International course is located.
With some of the world’s most amazing cuisine and arguably the best wine produced anywhere, there is a little something for everyone in France. Once you get outside of the tourist centers of Paris, the people are extremely friendly and welcoming to people from all walks of life. All of those rumors you may have heard about the French are, well, not entirely true. Again, get away from the Eiffel Tower and you’ll find a whole new experience that you will find difficult to leave behind when it is time to move on.

Course Location & Accommodations
Plelauff is located in the Northwest region of France, just 10 minutes down the road from Rostrenen, a medieval town with a rich historical context. Its 16th century manoir was used in the Revolution and the town is now famous for its market of organic breads, vegetables, cheeses and traditional Breton products. Also nearby is Lake Guerledan, which is a popular destination for the avid jet and water skier, sailing enthusiast and golfer, yet perfect for a relaxing winter stroll on the way to a cozy bar with a roaring fire. Just 20 minutes away are the moated castle of Rohan and the Notre-Dame-de-Joie basilica, nestled in the 7th century historical town of Pontivy.
Beautiful rural scenery sets the stage for your TESOL training to begin in the Camina Centre in Plelauff, Cotes D’Armor. The Centre is actually a gathering of buildings used for entertainment, leisure and academic purposes. The teaching room and office area are centrally located within the complex, just seconds away from the living quarters.
Accommodations are located in the main building, which offers its guests their choice of housing ranging from a single room to dormitory-style quarters. Each room is simply furnished and comfortable, meeting the needs of the typical student with a wardrobe for luggage and a writing table for evening studies and letters to family back home. Pleasant bathroom facilities are shared among the trainees residing here and there is a kitchen within the building which can be used for meal preparation at a small cost. Meals may also be provided upon request. There is also a lounge/TV room where trainees may congregate in their downtime, though TV may be the last thing on your agenda with the welcome distraction of France’s beauty and charm just outside the window. The grounds play host to an equestrian centre as well, so taking in the beauty of the resident horses may be a more worthy use of time and attention.
The school center is about 800 metres outside of the village of Plelauff; just a short walk through open land and fields. The surrounding area is 100% agricultural, so there is no end to the wonderful views and scenery to enlighten you along your walk. Also a short walk away is the Nantes-Brest Canal path where you can walk, run or cycle virtually any time of year. This is thought to be the brainchild of Napoleon Bonaparte, built in the 19th century.
